YOU GUYS,
my life is so BORING right now! i absolutely hate junior yr. Why is life like this?! Besides school i have 3 tutoring lessons in a row from friday through sunday. so yea, no more free sundays which is a bummer! But this year i'm been trying to be as active as possible with my interests, so i joined 5 different clubs. Annnd i'm so glad i did. i was part of a Global Warming Awareness Club and to raise money and awareness, we hosted our school's first ever Band Night and it went awesome! i was super suprised by my classmate's talents! i'd say, its just as good as going to a concert. We had a double stage set up where one stage would perform while the other prepared. & guess who's idea was it?! MINE. Although when it was a group's turn, some bands did end up taking a while to set up. It would have taken much longer without this setup though. And the crowd flowed from one end of the room to the other..it was great! We raised over $800 and it was a huge sucess. We'll organize another one once spring whips around.

i know i've been MIA but i just want you guys to know that i will never stop blogging even by the time i'm 80, cause i just love it too much! You guys keep me young...even though i'm only 17. haha well, have a good one! and talk to you (who ever you are) real soon :] And i gotta figure out some shit to do to spice up my life!

October has come and gone! Is it just me or did it go by super SUPER fast. & Halloween isn't getting as much hype as it used to. darn. this really makes me miss childhood. but i still had so much fun going out trick-or-treating with my friends around the neighborhood...anddd i'm 17..i wonder how long i'm gonna keep doing this lol.

So...my friends and i went to this house and the guy openS the door. he seemed kinda ...suprised to see us.. he leaves us at the door, goes to a closet, and comes out with a trick-or-treat bag with candy in it... He digs through, and in his hands, there's candy (normal)and then, we see the candy wrappers........he picks out the wrappers and says with a nervous enthusiasm, "anyone want a snickers!?" my friends and i look at each other like wtf! and say "it's ok..." then we speed walk outta there asap! i feel bad for that man. THE END.

Well, anyway my friends didn't dress up this year but 2 years ago my friend didn't have a costume so with some brainstorming, i came up with an awesome idea! Jess and i made this rubiks cube that victoria's wearing. isn't it great?! we shoulda jumbled up the colors though.

Sorry for that month long break (which is a year in blogger years) but anyway! It’s good to be back. I missed you guys!! Since the coming back from Taiwan, it’s been so hectic! It’s already been a month of high school and let me tell you. Junior year ain’t fun. There’s loads of work! And to add on to the load, I have 2 SAT tutors and Princeton Review classes every Sunday. Which means no more free Sundays!! WHY must you do this to mee?? I already have so much stress! Well at least my younger brother has to suffer with me. MUAHAHA. But seriously, my parents have robbed me of my leisure time. I barely have time to hang out with my friends! But I know that I’m not alone: my friends are busy too. Let’s not talk about work anymore. It’s kinda depressing just thinking about it. So let’s divert to something different.

they are always sleeping!OCAC was by far the BEST experience I’ve ever had. That’s the one thing my friend who had previously gone there, was right about. Isolated from my parents I felt so free from authority. And this environment was just what I needed. I loved that it was an international camp where people who were interested in learning Chinese could come or…their parents make them. Of course that’s not everyone’s priority. Yes, people go there just to have lots of fun too, but I was also pretty interested in improving my Chinese since I’ve been struggling in Mandarin class last year. And making friends was a piece of cake! I practically made new ones everyday! Everyone was soo friendly and even though ages ranged from 14 to 18, age didn’t divide us or make us different. We treated each other the same. We, were friends. Back home I hated how my parents thought I was weird for having friends a year younger than me. It made me so mad! Don’t be age...-ist! But anyway people here were great not like in America. No offense but I feel like we, Americans, judge too much from the way others look and dress and even age! It’s really wrong but that’s a part of our lifestyle. Even though about half are from America the whole friendly environment of it made people not judge, I guess. I don’t know how to explain it but I didn’t meet anyone I hated! Although, there is this one person…but that’s cause she acted fake. And there’s really no reason to! Anyway, I made the greatest friends from all over the world! There were kids from Thailand, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, England, and even Guatemala! It was so sad to leave them but I will definitely visit and keep in touch with them. If you can, do something international with lots of people, you’ll meet the greatest most interesting people, I promise ;]

Alright, so I’ve finally found the time to blog. I came home early Thursday morning, and um let’s just say my lifestyle from here on has completely changed. No, I have not found enlightenment, but mid-camp my parents received my report card and it was anything but good news. I mean I guess I was pretty disappointed in myself too because I had worked so hard 4th quarter but for the overall grade it can only help so much. Ugh, I really don’t understand why though. For all my classes I did all the make-up work, extra credits, came to teachers after school if I didn’t understand something, & study my ass off for tests! WHY DOESN’T IT ADD UP!? I guess this year I have to make a good impression from the start and keep it up. So, right when I came back my parents decided to take action. They went psycho lecturing me on how I can’t screw up this year. I mean I don’t want to either but I don’t think they fully understand that my nature is to be slow not just when I work but when I think. It’s a curse from the gods okay. I hate being slow. I hate how homework always takes me twice as long as it should. I hate that my brain is slow processed so it’s really hard to digest information and memorize it. I hate everything about it! My dad thinks that I’m just doubting my abilities but I’m really not it’s the truth. So being all proactive, they made me read SAT prep books and made me take practice tests nonstop! Since the time my luggage first hit the floor of our house, they’d be sitting right next to me watching me turn the pages of that big fat book. You know what I learned? I learned that the SATs are dumb. That it doesn’t prepare you for the right college. And it’s just a god damn stressful competition with the rest of the nation. Yea, I’m complaining but I have to take it and one day I’ll loosen up and be positive about it when I take it so my negativity won’t bring me down. Plus I can always retake it. You know, my cousin got a perfect 2400 on her SATs and got a full scholarship to Duke University? She studies nonstop on her own. And her parents even worry that she studies too hard. Her mom’s always like “close the books & go to sleep!” Her name’s Felicia, and I’m really proud and happy for her but I could never live a life like that. I’d probably go into a depression studying that hard plus I wouldn’t remember it! Life in general is really hard. So much competition and a crave for a good status. All people care about these days is reputation. My dad went to Tufts and my mom went to Harvard. Sure, my dad is smart and really hard working but my mom? Honestly, she’s not smart. She got into that Ivy League b/c they saw “potential” in her and provided a scholarship also b/c she was from a third-world country. You see, this is called luck. She is really really lucky. At least she worked hard while she was there. But what I’m saying is, it shouldn’t matter what path you take as long as it takes you where you want to be. & that destination to most people is success. I was talking to a friend & he mentioned that people would unfortunately judge you for it. See what I mean? It’s all about status isn’t it?

So class is over, but it's bittersweet. I love my teacher. She's so open, you can come to her for anything. And even though she gave a lot of homework, i don't think i'd have gotten to learn this much chinese without her. i've learned chinese now for 10 years, and i haven't learned this much chinese in just 5 weeks!! So, you know she's a great teacher. And she rewards us every week, from Karyoke to Japanese hotpot and Taiwan's famous shaved ice. It's been so much fun!! & i will not allow what i've learned to go to waste. i refused to. She's such a hardworking teacher, i'd hate to do that to her and myself even. It sucks that my dad doesn't really talk to my brother and I in chinese. it's become a habit but that's why my chinese has been slipping away. i'm not practicing, so i'm gonna force my dad when i get back.

Even though class is over there's still so much shit to do!! We have to do a google earth presentation and it's so frustrating!! i already worked on it for 3 hours and i give up! appearently i did it wrong after 2 hours...and no one else in my class is doing it so why bother? wow, i just wasted my day and my counselor just called me to tell me that she'll do it since it's too complicated. wtf? & thanks classmates for ditching me to do funner things! (like watching movies on my laptop when i leave for 10 minutes...erg)

haha she made a star shaped bun. so adorable. Also, a friend from Singapor, Jess, just left and i'm terrible with goodbyes. it was so bad. she held her arms out and i just stood there for acouple seconds because i just didn't want her to leave!!! damn, she probably thought that i didn't want to hug her! i hate myself for doing that but ugh, it was so sad! everyone was crying bc the reality of it is no matter how much you want to reunite and keep in touch with everyone. it is so hard. i really hope with all my heart that things work out and we'll have a really big OCAC reunion in the future bc i love everyone here. this is so depressing! Anyway, this is her. Isn't she so pretty!! & she dances hella good too (i'm jealous lol). i'm glad i got to meet such an amazing dancer :) she is seriously pro. We also exchanged letters. she is so sweet! thanks Jess!!
plus we are currently experiencing a typhoon. GREAT..... let me just collect myself and i'll be back asap!

i'm so so so sorry! i swear i didn't purposely neglect you guys. i've been sick and i have so much work!! & i feel pretty terrible that it seems that i've forgotten blogging but i think about it everyday! i have drafts lining up to be finished!( why must i type so much?! )This camp takes up so much of my time from 6 hours of daily class, being sick, stupid activities, and homework even. Right now i'm studying for a really big final tomorrow and my class already had a test today. I really should be relaxin' right now but i stay up til 1 almost nightly cause i'm paranoid and also bc it's a result of procrastination. WHY!! other than that i'm loving it here. i have a lot, a lot to say so stay tuned!! i promise to type tomorrow after my final since it's our last class. so no more stress! cheers to that. But about two more weeks of camp and i'm heading home. i'm a little homesick but i know will definatly extremely miss Taiwan and everyone i've met here. oh dear, i hate goodbyes!!!

i'm feeling pretty guilty right now. & i'm so sorry for not updating more often. Yes, camp is taking a lot of my time, but i've also been really really sick with a different symptom every week!! it's driving me insane! first it was my asthma, then upset stomach, the fever, and now it turned into the cough. wtf. can i just be normal? so, i'm sorry for the absence. i truely mean it. i miss blogging and scoping other blogs. *sniffle*the camp is taking up so much of my time it's rediculous!! we have 6 hours of class four times a week. there's homework. stupid competitions and activities. and i'm always tired. and i don't know why but i get sick really often here. i just got the fever and i felt really awful worse than i did when i get it back in the states. My muscles were sore, my throat hurt, i'd get the chills, my head was pounding so hard and i felt like it was going to explode. & i was so hot i felt like i could boil water with my own body heat. This happend on Saturday though, so my grandparents brought me to to the hospital to get me some hardcore meds. Within the next 12 hours, it's as if i was never was sick! Why can't all nonprescription drugs be this good. too bad i forgot them at my grandparents house so i went back to having the fever except a milder version. & now all my roomates and classmates are sick. And yes. they all blame me. they call me the sick mother that spread it to the children. It's not my fault A) my counselor hates me B) makes me sleep it off and C) won't get me medicine bc it's appearently illegal?!?! Well, ya know what? it's ain't gonna go away like that. so poohy, it's not like i like being sick, OKAY? (i recently got my counselor a little sick though MUAHAHAH...no, i'm not that evil to be happy about it)

so yea. this is why i haven't been able to update recently. it's also really hard sometimes when my roomates hog my laptop! i'll go the the bathroom or something, then pop! outta no where someone's on my computer! did you not see the screen? i'm busy.

BUT. but. But. the most exciting news ever?! (well, for me atleast) i got my lip peircing!!!i'm feelin' pretty bad ass right now & it looks really good! it healed up quickly and nicely, too. I got it done at XimenDing, Taipei. I was so anxious i kinda just got it done at this random place that sold earings but it was hard to find a place that would do the lip since a lot of places only had the gun. i'm not gonna lie i don't recomend you getting it done here. it was expensive!! (600NT = $20 USD considered expensive in taiwan) and not the most sanitary either. plus they don't really have a good selection of lip rings. erg. i'll tell the story later. it's pretty interesting i must say. right now i'm too tired.

First Impressions of OCAC.

3 days into camp. & for the most part i love it!! i have great roomates + the people here are really nice. too bad i keep getting sick and i can't participate in all the activities. i don't know what it is but it feels like my stomach is in knots and it's hard to breathe then i get light headed. i can't get medicine b/c appearently it's illegal to give it to those under 18. I can't go to the doctor b/c it'll cost too much money. & there's no nurse. NO NURSE?! wtf?? this is an internetional camp, right? this should be required. stupid asians too stingy to pay for one... So all i can do really, is just sleep and wait for the day i pass out. One day, they'll see.

Another reason this camp kinda sucks. the food. it's pretty unappetizing. enough said.

&& the Bathroom!! the other night was one of the worst shower experiences i will ever experience. honest. it's smelly, slimy, grimy and it lurks creepy crawly things all over that place. + we have those squat toilets which are not only hard to use but they are just not sanitary since people miss all the time. Like i don't know why they keep making them if they probably know by now that even though everyone puts their butt on the same seat, it's easier to use and keep clean than those porcelean ditches. it takes years of skill to use that thing!! i go to Taiwan about every two years and i just perfected it the last time i was here. i am so glad. don't worry i'll give ya tips later to not miss. :)

Good Bye America, Hello Formosa!

Formosa aka Taiwan, was a name given by the Dutch when they took over. it means beautiful island, which it is! I've actually been here for about a week but didn't get internet service until noww. Believe me, it was HELL. The weather is HOT HOT HOT. i was stupid and forgot my inhaler, but since you don't need a prescription for basically anything you can just buy one at the 7 Eleven (cool, right?). But i haven't felt the need to use it so that's good. Last time i almost passed out twice from an asthma attack. But, anyway, the shopping is great. i love going to the night markets which Taiwan is famous for. They sell cool little tinkets and keepsakes, toys, electronics, pets, clothes, shoes, & the great tasting food and desserts. There, you can usually find teens with really interesting style from thier shoes to thier hair. And guys, i've hit the JACKPOT. XimenDing is like the CENTRAL. So many hot guys with sexy dragon ball Z hair!! Too bad they're basically all taken with their girlfriends glued to their hips...grrr....young taiwanese guys should like Taiwanese American girls right?? ahaha.......My best friend is comming to visit Taiwan so it'll be double the fun!! Scoping out all the G's is what she calls them.

aaah i love the 2nd-guy-from-the-left's hair....frames his face so well!

So, in New England since we get a lot of foreign immigrants especially asians. We have a special name for them. FOBs which stands for FRESH OFF THE BOAT. This applies for asians that don't really change after moving here. I believe it has to do a lot with fashion sense more than anything. Like their style is still very Asian and not at all Americanized. (you can probably find a better, funnier, more exaggerated version on urban dictionary) So yes, we get a lot of those @ my school, esp. Korean. A lot of them come here to learn english and bc our school systems are better here. Like in some cases the parents from Korea ship their kids here and they live with host families. it's all very interesting, i find.

i'm alive!

Sorry i've been on a little hiatis. i'm leaving Wednesday for Taipei, Taiwan so i guess i've just been playing my heart out, hanging out with friends, and such so i haven't been able to finish up any posts. I haven't even started packing (!) for that matter. So, yea it's a little crazy. i just am gonna miss them so much & i would hate to lose touch, so it should be understandable. i'm expecting an awsome awsome summer this year. Although, i'm a little scared of what i've been hearing, it doesn't have to be that way. I can make it go my way since I'm so good at manipulating muahahahaha. just kidding!!

i'm glad i enjoyed myself this week. i desevered it. all those all nighters paid off. i did really well on my finals!
However, for Bio and English? i have no idea since my teachers actually didn't show up. how typical of them. but i have no idea what to expect either. a) my english teacher hates me. and that's actually how she grades. it's a hate crime!! no mater how well i know i do, it don't make a difference. b) i couldn't even finish the bio test! i missed like 20 multiple choice questions!! ya know, i'm a slow worker. damn it.

well, i hope you guys have a great summer + i hope you've been checking out those great deals i've been talking about. i got some pretty nifty stuffies myself for waayy cheap, but unfortunately i won't be able to do a haul post cause i don't have them with me... i know, i'm a lazy ass.. but don't fret more posts to come! a lot has been going on and i have a lot to say.

Back & Blah.

not sick anymore! &thank you guys for being so kind and thoughtful!
So today was the first day of summer and i almost felt like i didn't know what to do with this, freedom...it's really dissapointing. i blame it on yesturday, which was our pointless last day of school. The weather was grey, and here and there it would rain...the whole atmosphere was blah and gloomy. You could tell that everyone was tired and so fucused on getting out of there it was hard to end the year on a good note. But most of all, there was no "oh see you next year", "have a good summer!" nada! It makes me feel so sad. The last bell didn't even ring so it didn't feel like school officially ended either. NO CLOSURE.

+ clearly, i was wrong about my future predictions of Jon & Kate. i'm too hopeful i guess. So, they filed for devource. ain't ever goin' back. "We can only go forward" says Kate. which, yea, that would be pretty messed up if they got back together. And i know that people percieve her as a bitch but i really don't think so. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world (i believe) and she's scared of being a failure especially when it comes to raising 8 kids. I don't know guys, give her a break?
On a lighter note. i think i just found my new favoiurite movie. WALL-E. NO JOKE. So, for the last bock of the last school day our science teacher was absent so we joined with another teacher and watched Wall-E insted. We only got to see half of it, but i can already tell it's one of the funniest movies i have ever seen, if not the funniest. The writer and director Andrew Stanton is a genius!! He should so win an acedemy award for this!! He also won an Academy Award for 'Finding Nemo', however, i personlly didn't really like that movie b/c i found it to be too depressing since i like sobbed. a lot. i'm weird. i know. When i finish the movie, i'll do a full review. You know what's also sad though, almost no one in my class laughed. i was the only one laughing and loudly too. oy, high schoolers too embarrassed to show their inner kid. tsk.

The Shit Storm's Never Ending.

SOOO.....i'm sick. really sick. with the stupid cold........................in the summer... STUPID RAIN! + looks like it's gonna rain all week here in New England. WHY!? Science final was pretty dreadful. i kept sniffling and sneezing and blowing my nose. i looked quite ill.

Right now, i'm cuddling in me robe and watching I Love Lucy. i love that show. :] [EXCUSE ME WHILE I BLOW MY NOSE]

Tomorrow i have an english and mandarin final. mandarin shouldn't be too hard, and english...well, i got sparknotes. so it's all good. Hope you guys had a better start of the week than i did!

Also. i bought the Multiple Blessings book yesturday and i'm pretty excited to start reading it!! at first i found it a little odd to find it in the Christian Inspirations section of B&N but it guess it makes sense...the title, duh! & 19 bucks?! i'm sorry but don't you guys make enough money? the show and all, i mean that's why Jon quit his job last year then bought a farari (or w.e.). well, at least i got a coupon and saved 6 bucks. it pays to be a member.

Tonight there's going to be a 1 hour "anouncement" episode @ 9. Of course, i'll be watching it (i'm lame, i know). i don't think they'll devource, and i strongly believe that. since i have mad fortune telling skills. i also made a post on them earlier.

so, i've noticed that you guys like these updates. which is interesting to me cuz i find it hard to believe that people take interest in my life. but than i look at other blogs and i do the same thing. so when you step back to look at the whole picture. WE'RE ALL STALKERS. Am i right, or am i right?

i am slow? i post on a weekly basis + i know, i know, i should update more often but i have priorities! not to put blogging on the backburner but i don't always have the time. and i blame this on my slow-ness at everything: homework, getting ready in the mornings (so i have to wake up at 5am on a daily basis except weekends), cooking- takes me 45 mins more than it should, eating- i'm always the last person to leave the table. i'm slow at life. & it's kinda sad since everyone wants my to hurry up BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT GOT GAVE ME THIS GIFT! so school +right now studying for finals takes up a lot of my time.

School: i yet again pulled an allnighter on thurday night to obviously last minute study. although i was a little scared of the math final, i didn't study for that at all. which came to my luck since it was a complete joke. it was easier than the practice finals! wtf. but the wld history final? omg, believe me, i got at least a C+. no matter how much i study for history, it's just never good enough. *sigh* but it's weird that i'm feeling really calm about it... Well, bio, english, & mandarin finals this week. two more days and i'm so outta here (well, school atleast). Wednesday my dad's letting me skip school to do community service at the library. MUAHAHAHAH i feel bad ass. Even though i skipped school a couple times for taking-it-personal-days.......i have needs okay?

Shopping: it's no secret that there are major sales going on right now! IT HAPPENS EVERY SIX MONTHS HENCE SEMI-ANNUAL!! remember that ;] i have some awsome hauls but it'll probabaly take me a while to put them up, so get your asses out there and shop til ya drop!!

i'm sorry. i'm so tired. unorganized. unproductive. uninspired. unmotivated. all-the-place. lazy. hence the lack of postings. i don't know why exactly it's taking so long to finish the wayyy over-due posts but they'll be up eventually. So as we all know (or may not know) father's day is comming up. i had to look up the date for that but wtf?! it changes every year??? why can't it just be simply one day? then i realized it's because it has to be on a Sunday. well, if you want to know the date for the next 2 years. here ya go.

So turns out it's good that it changes every year, since every Sunday is family day (minus the presence of mom). i don't know what to get...i was thinkin' the Kenzo Power for men. which smells so amazingly good, i would wear it, seriously. it's still masuculin, though. it smells kinda lemony gingery...i cannot describe scents well.... but if you're like me and you like some masculin scents check out this post.
hmmm...i'm just gonna concentrate on school right now since appearently that's what makes him most happy. But i cannot believe we're still in school for another 2 1/2 weeks. i should be on summer vacation right now scoping the city for hot urban boys (& gansters for my friend). insted, not only do i have to study for finals but we're still learning new shit! Have i mentioned i hate school? Oh, and btw, thank god the drama's over. i can finally concentrate on more improtant things.

~Do Yoga- i've been neglecting it & it has taken a toll on my mind & body.
~have a clothing yard sale with my friends- better than sending it to a vintage store, since you get to set the prices. i want to make my own mulla! for once in my life.

Appearently last year a friend went to that camp i was talking about in Taiwan called OCAC. i hadn't talked to him in 5 years until now so i had no idea he went to this camp. Well, it's an international camp that teaches Mandarin and the culture. And yes, French people go. But he was talking about it and he was like "there's a lot of hooking up, drinking, and smoking". i. was. stunned. WHAT THE HELL HAS MY DAD GOT ME AND MY BROTHER INTO!? i just wanted to have fun (not that kind of fun) and enjoy myself. i am so sick of my town. i just want to get out of here! but now i'm having second thoughts... And oh some piece on advice that my friend gave me "Courtney, don't go around hooking up with too many guys okay?" i don't know what kind of person you think i am but i am deffinately not what you think. Sweet Jesus, please protect me from this scary scary world. I BEG YOU!

Hello, Hello!like my editing? yea, not gonna lie it's sloppy. it's my first time with photoshop so give me a break!
Wow, i'm on a roll! So, i'm sorry i don't really keep 'on schedule' when it comes to the beginning of the month's upcomming posts. But, i do post them eventually...

i have two more posts that i need to finish off for May then i'll move on to this month. I hate how blogger does that but anyway, just a warning for this month....GUESS......i'm gonna be super busy!!! i have 5 Finals and a Bio Mcas is comming up which is proabably the one mcas test i worry most about since i didn't learn shit this year b/c my teacher has no idea what she's talking about...i should have switched to a different teacher...big mistake, but i won't make it again. Oh! by the way, i believe i did really well on the English Composition, and the Math mcas since they were super duper easy. i won't know the results until probably january but i'm feelin' good about it! the parents with be proud.

Also, my rooms a mess. it's amazing how i clean it up, but it takes just one day to mess it all up again. oy. my desk will never see the light (til schools over). i went to ikea with my pops and brother to furnish our newly bought apartment in boston. We're not moving or anything my dad just wanted to own some property to keep for the future when my brother and i go off to college in the city. We also picked up a futon for my brother (which is really comfy) and a new bedframe for my room. i will do the room tour once my room is tidy-ed up which won't be for awhile...:[

Health: You know what's really weird? twitching eyes are a sign of sleep deprivision but my left eye has been pulsing all week! & i'm recently slept more.i have no idea whats going on there but i'm gonna look it up. + every once in awhile my RLS (restless leg syndrome) will act up on me which is really annoying. just 30 minutes ago i was in extreme pain and since i ran out of my meds my dad suggested advil. IT WORKS!!! wtf? i could have just used that all this time? oh advil and tylonol i love you. last week i had a headache almost everyday. they saved the day.

Kite Project.

Every Quarter we get a project for Geometry and this time it was to make a Kite. i was surfin' the net and came across some really cool lookin' ones. there are some pretty amazing one out there but these were the ones my partner and i considered for the project.

the contenders:

1st idea: there's even a website http://metm.org/collabo/kite_project/2kite_detailed_howto.html that shows you how to make it. i thought it was pretty good idea but my partner wasn't so into it.

1st attempt: finally something we can agree on - called the dragonseems pretty simple right? wrong! we made it out of trash bags cause we wanted ours light in weight....but yea. fail. we call it the jellyfish that doesn't fly. after 3 hours of nonsense, we gave up on that one.

how cute is the icecream cone? well, we ended up choosing something like the one at the top of this image which is called the glider i believe.
But i have to tell you how this came to be:

So, my brother saw the jellyfish and laughed. Not gonna lie, it looked ridiculous. Not only that but it didn't even fly! He then runs back in the house and pulls out his kite he made back in the 8th grade, runs around the house and without much effort it starts to fly! Oh my god, i was so relieved! i've found my new kite! i laughed so hard, cuz after trying to make the dragon kite for 3 hours, i lost all hope for making kites or so i thought. wow, my brother can be a real life saver.

We already submitted the kite so we're just waiting to present it and fly it. pictures soon! & oh my partner was a complete lazy ass and bascially made me type up the whole essay. F YOU! [too bad he doen't know i blog...]

Sometimes More Bitter than Sweet.

This morning I woke up feeling pretty nauseous and I don’t ever remember waking up on a bad note until today. & I realized it was because yesterday had been the last day for the seniors. Being a Sophomore, I don’t have many senior friends but still, I hate dramatic bittersweet change. That’s what makes me feel nauseous. I had made two senior friends this year and randomly, too! But I’m so glad I did. They are awesome people. Last year I, too, had made friends, Tori and Rue, seniors, that went on my bus, but depressingly I have no way of keeping in touch with them, no phone number, no facebook, nada. That was a huge mistake. I miss our daily random talks on the bus. I remember Rue even saying, “You are so gonna miss us next year.” And I completely do! After high school is a whole new chapter of your life. I don’t mind making new friends but I would hate to lose my old ones. I grew up with some of these guys. And off to college, people have different interests, priorities, start in a new direction, even a new place! Ugh, why does life have to be like this?

To make matters worse, my neighborhood was experiencing a power outage at around 10:20a.m., which I found to be pretty outrageous I mean it’s not snowing or any extreme weather…but anyway, I felt almost helpless since it seemed like my usual Saturday “schedule” was impossible without electricity which it was. No TV, no blogging, no Youtube, I couldn’t even properly put on some foundation to go out because of the lack of lighting! And the food. I had to eat cold noodles for lunch which I found to be a lot better than it is hot! So that was a good discovery. Lol.

So feeling terribly sad, I decide to call up some friends for some therapeutic conversation. However, my little part of the neighborhood has crap cell phone service (b/c tall trees) but half the time it does work, it’s just weak. BUT, on this particular day, my cell phone decides not to have service at all so I have to walk up my street to the main road on top of a hill just to get service. It’s weird because although I was annoyingly irritated, I ended up enjoying myself. As I was calling my friends, I decide to walk to a nearby park since the weather was gorgeous. I'm swinging on the swings alone talking to my friends back to back on the phone with some little kids playing on the playground. I gradually feel so much better. The pain drifts away and I feel ensured that I can keep in touch with my graduating senior friends. I AM SO RELIEVED! I’m exstatic that I did something about it, and i'll never make that mistake again. Had I not called them I don’t think we’d be able to ever have contact again. Sometimes you just have to be the first to do something about it or else it never happen.

Happy Memorial Day! i'm staying in just enjoying myself watching a Jon & Kate plus 8 marathon on TLC. They are so adorable, the whole bunch. TLC calls them America's favourite family and i completely agree. (if you don't agree, i'm sorry) I fell inlove with Gosselins the moment i watched thier first episode. i've watched the show so much i can actually match thier names to thier faces without a mistake!& i know, i know. Those rumors of the "scandal"...i don't really know what to think. So i'm just anxiously waiting for thier Season 5 premier tonight at 9. oy. i hate tabloids, hence i try to avoid reading/listening them as much as possible. But i remember from watching the Oprah show awhile back, the main reason why married men cheat, no matter how much they love thier wife, is because they ain't getting enough doin' time. men......

I went to Costco the other day and they were currently selling Mac eyeshadows!!!!! I had to do a double take! I mean I was shocked! They only had acouple colors: ogre, newly minted, and some others but I didn’t get any. Costco being wholesale of course had a discount of $11.50 which is not bad compared to Mac’s retail price of $14.50. BUT! It is nothing compared to the Cosmetic Company Outlet! I went today and they sell ‘em at 10 a pop! I could hardly contain myself but I did :]. If you don’t know what these stores are they basically buy discontinued products or left over products from department store brands and sell them for cheaper! (they are still in perfect condition) They have brands from DKNY, Prescriptives, Bobbi Brown, Este Lauder, and of course MAC. I could care less about those other brands my eyes were glued.
What I Got:

i'm so sorry i've been so busy! it's yet another MCAS week. This time for math...and i feel quite unprepared but so far i feel as though i did well. i'm drowning stress from homwork, essays, and projects. And just when i think the drama's over. There's more. And it's not the same ones lingering...they are completely out of the blue. This is so.....high school....i hate high school. i have to stay up late tonight to finish a lab report...oy... My goal this weekend is to get myself together no more hanging out, shopping, laying around watching tv. it's for my own well being!! i have not neglected blogging, i swear. Although i have neglected yoga which is bad and i can already feel the effects of it on my emotions and energy. (i'm suprised i haven't been breaking out!) My friend is also getting the fourth quarter stress outs and her hair is falling out as a result. this is mean but i laughed [hopefully she doesn't read this, lol]. i hope you guys have a great rest of the week. my friends and i fooling around on the trampoline. i stepped on her butt lol

i've been really busy lately with schoolwork and drama kind of making things worse. i'm so exhausted and it's only 3 days into the week after April's Spring Break which went by like hot cakes. Lately i've been working out & yoga-ing a lot to de-stress which has been quite effective. And this weather is, ugh, hot hot hot! So naturally i've been dreading running, luckily i have a trampoline so at around 7 p.m. when it's cooler, i'll start jumping. My neighbors probably think i'm a little odd jumping on the trampoline all alone at around dinner time but my brother won't do it with me so, ya know. gotta gain some muscles! i do about 14 minutes a day which is equivalent to running for 20 minutes! And i feel the difference! it's good on the joints, i don't have to work as hard, and it's deffinetly way more effective. For the past 3 months i've been running 3 days a week and it is nothing compared to what the trampoline has done. amazing! Also, i've been using Benefiber with my water and it deffinatly has curbed my cravings. And oh! i was watching my daily Oprah and there's a new brain surgery for weight loss! Suprised? but it makes sense since craving are a metal drive. Appearently this lady had lipo, gastric bypass, excorised, dieted, and nothing worked until this! She even said that she now makes better healthier decisions when she eats. Amazing what technology can do. Right now i'm focusing on having some sleek toned Michelle Obama arms.

I don't know about you but this is pretty exciting news esp. since they are one of my favourite bands of all time aka LEGENDS. over the years there were rumors spreading: "oh next year they'll come out with a new album!" then the next year, and the next would come by and nothing. BUT. Finally, my prayers were answered and they're officially back! they describe thier upcomming album's sound 'a mixture of 70's rock and "music from the future"'. & appearently Parrell Williams is interested in producing it. i'm looking forward to it!

can you spot the cave man? jk!I went to a Kings of Leon concert over spring break and it was seriously beyond awesome. i had stupidly missed the one in november so when i heard they were comming back to Boston i had to buy their tickets! Two words: no regrets. I really enjoyed myself. In fact the best concert I’ve been to by far and I’ve been to a few. They’re sound is a modern version of classic rock. With Caleb’s raspy voice and amazing melodies…ugh I can’t describe it, listen to it yourself! Anyway it’s a family band with 3 brothers and a cousin. My friend thought the drummer kind of looked like a civilized caveman and not gonna lie, she was right. Their most famous song, Sex on Fire, is probably the single most thing that got them really popular since the past year. It’s about, well…pretty self explanatory. You may find it weird but Caleb explained it as just about having great sex, which, there is really nothing wrong with. None the less, a great song. Of course it was one of the hits of the night was. But the highlight was their single ‘Use Somebody’. Everyone was so into the moment ohhing with the song and singing along, it was GREAT.

If you like their music, their concert is a must see! they are 10 times better live! With an awsome light show, live footage on flat screens, & ofcourse the smoke of dry ice filling the stage. And nothing beats the Live energy of the band and the audiance.

Their cd 'Only by the Night' is out now. i didn't have a chance to buy it but once i do i will do a review.

Living in America can give you opportunities and experience but believe me America's lifestyle? one word: unhealthy. We are dealing with so many health issues from diabeties, heart disease, and obesity at more higher rates than others around the world. That alone says something. it's quite sad. Oprah had an interesting topic for one of her shows dedicated to Hot Spots around the world. Where the oldest healthiest people live the longest from areas in japan and italy. Here are some highlights:Naps. give yourself atleast 40 minutes a day to just rest. daily naps was proved to lowers chances of a heart attack and i think it's overall better for your health. you wake up calm and more energized.

Vitamin D i'm not telling you to bake in the sun, but now a days Americans are staying indoors so much, they don't get enough vitamin D so take a walk. all you need is 15 minutes in the sun a day but still shield your face and neck with uva/uvb protection aka sun screen.

Chores! tired of working out? you can burn a lot of calories just sweeping the floor! Clearing the air and the clutter, i believe, can also help clear up your mind. just one less thing to think about. the key thing is start anywhere. & the interesting thing about this is that the people featured on the oprah show live simple lives with little or no technology, so they do everything themselves and by hand. They don't even have to think about exorcising since it's already apart of thier everyday life. Most Americans on the other hand have to set time aside to workout. how inefficiant is that?

Water. you may be feeling hungry...or is it thirst? try drinking a whole glass of water before knowing for sure. as you all know water is good for you. & i'm sorry to say but it doesn't improve your skin in any way. but do it for your body's sake. it'll help cleanse your insides. Antioxidents like blueberries and acai berries can also detox your body but from the inside out.

Diet. Japan is known to have the most long-living people. their secret to staying healthy? take your time to eat and only until your 80% full and no more. they have this saying that they say all the time to remind themselves but anyway it is so simple, i feel stupid. why didn't i think of that! for the past year i've been eating so fast that before i knew it i was bloated. ...haha

here are some other simple changes you can make for your diet:
insted of Soda (diet or regular cause they're both bad) opt for Water.
Supstitute Mayonaies for Avacado -no oils, no fat, just amazing creamy taste
ice cream-->Yogurt -now they come in yummy flavors & contains good-for-you bacteria
Fruit Bars-->REAL Fruit -cut out the high fructose corn syup and chilled fruit is just as refreshing
White Bread-->Wheat -white is all sugars, wheat has the good stuff

processed foods(e.g. hotdogs)& meat --> Vegetables -cut down on meat, not only is it better for the environment but vegetables provide more nutrients and they can still provide protein like soy (i don't know about you but i love tofu)

other good for you ingrediants:

Fiber

try mixing Benefiber into your water. fiber is not only good for you but helps curb hunger. so you feel fuller longer.

Calcium

i honestly hate milk with a passion but recently my brother introduced the brand Over the Moon. fat free and contains more calcium. let me tell you. BEST STUFF EVER!!! it's creamy and the taste is so rich. it's a little more expensive but so worth it.

finally something to dunk my cookies in x]. you could also choose goat milk? but i've never tried it.

Mindset. view life like you have a purpose. not just to pursue your dreams but to help others like volunteering with the community. Surround yourself with fun loving people. & be youthful and positive.

Give Some Time to Yourself. to relax the mind and body (i'm suprised they didn't mention this) & no this does not include sleeping or watching your favourite tv show, as relaxing as that sounds. But try putting in mediation or yoga into your everyday routine. And you can set it anyway you want. i mean don't exactly do yoga... i light candles, i listen to indie, close my eyes and do my own form of yoga which includes stretching and ab workouts then i go straight to bed. that's my nightly routine in a nutshell.

omg! so your probably tired of hearing this but yup. i'm still busy as hell! [no suprise] Last quarter had just finished and i've been doing SO well. ...or i hope so. it would make sense since i worked MY BUTT OFF. i wasn't able to get my report card yet but i hope its around the B+ range. except for english. i mean, that teacher is never gonna change. more on that later. so....hmmm a lot's been going on.
here are the highlights:
~i got my haircut and...it is the most dramatic thing i've ever done! phew! it's an asymetrical A-line Bob. and i'd hav to say it took me awhile to get used to but it's cute. x] (photos soon)
~Vacation in 1 week!!!! see this is why i like MA public schools- a vacation in February and another in April! while others have march break + have to wait again til summer. so this calls for a lot more posts!
~ Talking about Vacation...my brother and i got accepted to this International Taiwan camp thing...i have no idea what the official name is....but yea i'll pretty much be gone or the whole summer. not from his Laptop, ofcourse.
~Lately i've been saving a lot of $$ which has been accumulating from washing a lot of dishes i'm saving for something...but i don't know what...what to do, what to do....OMG. I WANT A DOG! i hate highschool. honestly i used to enjoy school and look forward to it but this year. nah. i kinda dread it. Tomorrow is the first day of MCAS starting with the English Language Arts Reading Composition & i feel no where prepared of it. My english teacher trying to cram everything in certainly didn't help. hopefully writing these journal entries helped cuz appearently people who write in journals and diaries have a more developed writing and literary mindset. 3 days of Hell comming up!

oy vey. okay. i should not have not blogged last week. so much has happened. and i feel like shit haha. Seems like everytime i do one of these updates i'm always stressed. hmm when am i not?the other day i pulled an allllll nighter for this big world history test which i wanted to get atleast and A on. so i took my daily naps and woke up at around 6. did all my homework but started studying for the test at around 12 midnight. i went through all the chapters and going over my notes, reinforcing everything and by the time i was finished it was 6a.m. and my alarm clock rang. "OP! time to take a shower!" haha i hate my life. not even a nap that night :( and boy, did that screw up my whole day. i was suprisingly really awake throughout the whole school day. and my friend stated that not sleeping for more than 12 hours can throw your body's natural chemisty off. and she was completelly right. i got home and was gonna take my daily nap [haha] but I WAS LOCKED OUT OF MY HOUSE. so i stayed at my friend's house which was 10 houses down the street. and by then it was 4. do you know what happens at 4?! OPRAH is what happens at 4. so i watched it while attempting to do my wld history hw. yea. 5 minutes into it i dozed off on the couch and an hour later the show had just ended. great. (honestly i don't really like oprah, but i find that her show is really eye opening.) so then i go to my friend's room hoping that doing hw with her will motivate me. wrong. i blacked out for 2 hours and got nothing done. that was pretty much the rest of my day i got home and slept til 3 in the morning. drank some water and walked around. then i slept again til school. so basically i was stupid stayed up all night, got extremely sleep deprived, slept all day, and got nothing done. & oh that history test was hard as always but i'm glad i studied. this is really bad but i haven't studied for any of her tests this year hence i got a C+ average on tests so...pretty big step.

This week has been so SO hectic. Thank god i was able to get everything done. Including this 7 hour project that i totally did last minute- litterally. it was this geometry project where we had to biuld a 3D model of a polyhedra out of find-out-which-material-works-best-type thing. We could choose to do 3 easy ones, 2 medium ones, and 1 hard one. my teacher was so vague about it and yet so strict on guidlines which made no sense what so ever. all i know is that she wanted it to be hard, sturdy, clean pointy edges, proportional shapes, and symetrical. yea. pretty much perfect. so she showed us some models and there was this one that i thought was amazingly proportionate made of foam board. but ofcourse like all the others they weren't "perfect". this one had some kinda gap at the edges cuz it didn't make a clean 90 degree angle. bullshit. but anyway i got an idea and bought a foam poster board and i would just take the fold of a carboard folder and use it as the egde of the polyhedra. on the day before it was due, thought about it some more...then decided not to after seeing this website where this guy practically made it out of oragami. perfectly too. i chose the Rhombicuboctahedron which was one of the more complicated ones. http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~jsm28/polyhedra/and at only acouple hours, foam board isn't really easy to work with. and all that gluing time...ugh. anyway so i opted for constuction paper and reinforced it with cardboard in the inside. it took me from 9p.m. to 4 in the morning. & LET ME TELL YOU. it turned out damn good. i was so proud of myself. i mean there were ofcourse it had it's imperfections but hey, i'm human. When i got to school, not gonna lie. mine was the best in class. so my teacher should give me an A if not an A+. i noticed that i've done really well on projects this whole school year. i should pay more attention to homework though. pictures later when i get my project (with an A+ on it!) back. :] examples of polyhedra:

The other day was my first time inside the MAC store. I was pretty pumped being in there but it wasn't an experience or anything. it just shopping for makeup. but it seems all so professional it's kinda intimidating. i mean i like how Sephora is all bright and open. but then 8 year olds walk in and blast makeup on thier faces then walk out looking like clowns which is a con. but anyway (i say anyway a lot) this is how it went:
i walk in, i see the hello kitty display and my eyes are glued. okay actually scratch that i'm not going to do the cookie recipe. basically i went in eyes rummaged through the hello kitty and blonde burnette redhead collection and some random eyeshadows. BUT in the meanwhile, as i'm looking around this mac guy walks up to me asks me if i need any help finding anything and i say "no just lookin' round" and he's like "oh okay well i'll be right here"...and he's litterally standing...right there...breathing down my neck. (well no i didn't feel his breath on my neck but any closer and i would have. then i would punch him in the face and run out.) gladly. that did not happen then i asked for a, b, and c. and he ripped it out faster than you can say "what is wrong with you". but the guy ended up being really nice. he said the word "cool" a lot. not once but twice whenever he said it as he nodded his head. plus he said it in a way where he didn't even pronounce the "l". well. the next time i go, i hope to see him again! cuz he was pretty "coo".

mini update: i try to be as informational and as helpful as possible which takes awhile to research, type, and edit. what has been excessively time consuming is my 2008 favourites post. uuuggh but it's ok it'll be up maybe in 2 weeks? anyway resently i've noticed that i've been getting frequent headaches and dizziness and i've felt unusually tired and weak. then i realized that my eye circles have been more purple and i've been sleeping! it's vacation! so i couldn't really find a diagnosis until i've read in a magazine that stress can cause these symtoms...ahem MOM! but over vacation was i guess the time when my body was unleashing the stress and this is what happened. all i can say is thank god for tylanol! because it toltally eased the head throbbing pain.

Skincare etc. facts/tips:

Although prescribed acne medicines (like retonal and clamidycine) are more powerful, effective, and fast-working, they may begin to wear off because your skin gets use to it. however drugstore medications like salasylic acid and benzoid peroxide don't have that effact so alternating between the two will end up being more effective. & sometimes what usually works may suddenly "break you out". bad. and it may seem like the treatment isn't working but it's not. it's just your skin freaking out. so blame it on your hormones.

Turns out spf is pretty much bad for you (bummer i know). On the skin it creates free radicals which in the long run can creat more damage to the skin in one day than not wearing any at all. Not a problem. thanks to antioxidents, they help neutralize these free radicals and you don't have to reapply, antioxidents will usually last even into the next day. so choose a facial cleanser or moisterizer with antioxidents. here's acouple. 2 even come in spf.
(right to left: the body shop Vitamin C moisturizer SPF 15, Garnier Nutritionist Detoxifying Cleanser, Neutrogena Anti-oxident Moisturizer w/ helioplex spf 15)
clumpy mascara? toothbrush to the rescue. dampen the bristles and run it along the lashes acouple times until the clumps are out. it may take away some mascara but thats not a problem either. just reapply another coat and it won't clump. [i live by this!]

you can also use a soaped up toothbrush to clean the dirt out of the tips of ur fingernails and toe nails. ofcourse you a separate on from the one used for your teeth.

Painting fingernails are a pain in the butt (well for me atleast) but finally i found an effective tip to make them dry faster after those nummerous layers. juat take a bowl of icy water and let ur fingertips soak for about 5 minutes. it'll make them hard as rock. {my friend almost fainted after litterally blowing on her nails so hard just to make them dry...lol} & please have clean and even-length fingernails. + don't cut your cuticles! they protect the nails. (too bad i didn't know that when i was younger...)

From lotions, cleansers and toners. how you apply them counts twards the future. always try to rub upward and avoid downward applications. and for the eye area rub in from the outer corner to the bridge of your nose. & be gentle to your skin. we don't want premature wrinkles!

Let your skin breathe. for about once or twice a month i won't use a treatment/wash for my face before i go to bed (unintentionally from late nights...) but i've noticed that my skin is in better condition and no caused breakouts! sometimes your skin needs a break from all the cleansers and treatments. it'll use the time and natural oils to kind of regenerate i guess. i wake up brighter and more moisterized.

Use treatments at night. it'll be more effective. again. sleep is the time when your mind rests and your body heals and regenerates. so your skin will work with you to heal scaring, pimple, etc. And during the daytime the sun can actually leasen the effectiveness too. damn sun.

You probably already know this but apply body lotion to moistened skin after getting out of the shower. your skin will soak in more moisture and lock it in when it's dry. Same with the face but apply when still damp. unless your using a toner. insted just quickly apply the toner and when dry use the lotion. p.s. Cleansers are ment to cleanse the face of dirt, bacteria, makeup, and oils depending on your needs. don't depend on it to treat anything even if it's medicated. it may help unclogg pores but it's not going to dry up a pimple.

Facial lotion is deffinately a nessecity. no matter how oily/normal your skin is. Having it moisturized is the #1 of importance. if you have combination/oily skin moisterizers can evenly distribute the oils on your face keeping the face evenly moisterized. although do not depend on it to moisturize cracked, irratated, extremely dry areas, you may need a thicker one.

Don't turn down all facial products with oils or alcohol. the myth that moisterizers with oil will clog pores/ cause breakouts & that toners with alcohol will dry out the skin. Oils like tea tree oil (known to kill bacteria), jajoba oil (good moisterizer) , and lavender oils (to soothe skin) are there for a reason. And from my experience they're more moisturizing. Same with the alcohol toners. They are more effective with helping to dry up existing oils and removing more left over dirt/makeup your cleanser leaves behind. (hope in a jar by Philosophy w/ Lavender oil- i love this stuff!)

Bottomline: try out what works for you and do your own research.

ok so. the attempt with purple burgundy hair with the @ home hair dying kit...um it did not go as planned.

Used: Clairol Hydrience in #34 Tropic Burgundy

Going for: dark purple-brown

Result: subtle red. not even really purple.

Reaction: DISSAPOINTED. ugh i don't know what happened exactly. i left it in over night fully saturated! poop. will have to try again.

Before: brown with light brown highlights.
After: ....i don't see a difference either.

bottom line: don't buy this shit.

but oh guess what! i'm so excited. appearently i've been such a good child i get to have a haircut and get my hair professionally dyed paid in couresty of my dad. i usually have to pay for my own haircuts and whatnot. & i haven't gotten it profesionally dyed in god. 5 years. which was back in the fifth grade with golden blonde highlights..yea. those were the days.

i like experimenting with hair. especially dying. i'm thinking, a little bit of pink at the end of my grown-out bangs? ...yes. deffinately.i'm not quite sure what cut i want yet though. will update.

i planned a get together with my friends cuz high school is crazy and i don't get to see all of them as much as i'd hope. so it's basically downtown boston, hvd sq., haymarket, etc. then this amazing taiwanese resturant in chinatown. since a lot of them haven't experienced one of my favourite kinds of food in the world [there is a difference with chinese...not as good]. you just have to look around to find something interesting to do, sometimes it't right infromt of you.

MAC- i haven't gotten anything from yet :( but the packeging is actually kinda gross and tacky . like makes me want to throw up gross. except for the lip conditioners. which i've been eyeing and planning to get in popster & pink fish before they sell out. i don't know why people aren't attracted to popster. it's so pretty!

is it just me or does Axe Dark Temptations with hints of chocolate sound outrageously good. just talking about it makes my heart melt like hot fude over icecream. i usually hate all the axe sents but i am completely willing to give Axe another chance at love {lol}. i'm probably gonna implore/force my brother to go out and buy it "for himself" but i'll probably just spray it around my room for myself lol. even the pakaging seems tempting!Ugh i really want to love this product! please don't let me down.

i love the original Old Spice body sprays and deoterants. my guy friend actually wears it all the time and whenever we hug i always make sure to take a deep wiff. IT. IS. SO. GOOD. and p.s. i steal my brother's old spice deoterant every now and then. i like it a lot better than the one i'm using (degree) and all the others i've tried (dove, secret, ban). it actually gives bursts of fragrance through out the day. it's not too manly or musky it's just right. infact it has a fresh minty sweet undertone. & i love the fast drying gel formula!

as you may know. i haven't been very inspired by fashion lately. infact i had no idea what fashion trend there were for his winter. but right now doesn't even feel like a defined season, so i guess it's a good excuss to just wear anything which i pretty much have been doing. but as fall fashion week went by i was so impressed. The upcomming seasons' collections i believe have a lot of inspiring elements. i haven't really been looking at fashion shows but flipping through glossy magazine pages and i saw some campaign ads that really caught my eye. i'm no fashion expert but i know what i like. {p.s.i was doing my research i was completely surprised to see lilly Danldson in 99% of the ad campaigns i can't believe that she was such in high demand but she definately delivered}

Burberry Prorsum {S/S 09}: finally mixtures of flowery textures and prints. sounds like spring but the collection is very Autumn inspired with the colors of dead leaves & dried flowers. a big improvement from thier last fall collection (which was all flat out black & teased hair. cool but nothing really inspiring.) & these flower neclaces are really eye catching.

A Review: Revlon ColorStay Foundation

Let me start off saying that...i [pretty much] HATE it.
i don't know what happend exactly but i really wanted to love it. from all the postive reviews & hype of this product on makup alley & Youtube, i was excited when i finally bought it.
unfortunately i didn't get it BOGO but i'm glad i didn't or else i would have had another bottle lying around and that would be a waste anyway.

extra info:
paid $12.99 @ walgreens (which is kinda expensive for a drugstore brand)
got it in fresh beige
for combination/oily skin - Spf 6
(normal/dry skin comes in Spf 15 - from reviews there is no real difference between the two)

pros:
looooong lasting staying power
good coverage (medium to full)
buildablegood as concealer
doesn't really rub off
cons:
a little hard to blend
weird texture with dry finish
not very creamy
weird redish undertone- so i get that different color face from neck thing going on...not attractive
hard to find right color- what you see in the bottle is not what it may look like on skin
feels & looks like i'm wearing makup- i do not need extra weight/gunk on my facebad packaging- i either pour out too little or too much = annoying + messy

So the only thing i would use this for is as a concealer just dabbing it on the discoloration but i don't really use it often since i extremely DISPISE the texture, the look, + the feel of it on my face. But just because it doesn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you as it work for so many other people, so if you want to go ahead & try it (cvs accepts returns no questions asked). i'm using my Laura Mercier tinted moisterizer right now and i'm inlove with it (i think i've found my Holy Grail!). i will do a review. i want to try Rimmel London's Lasting Finish foundation soon and i'll tell you how that goes.

tip: I always research reviews of products that i want to try out on YT and makupalley.com before i actually buy it to prevent from wasting money and being sorely disappointed. it usually works but at the end of the day it all comes down to your oppinion. if your buying from cosmetic specialty stores like Sephora or MAC make sure you try the products out more than once to see how you like it.

Sorry i've been kinda on a hiatus and staring off this month with a bad/emotional note. i mean i was furious that day [with my mom]! it has been so hectic recently with school wrapping up before vacation. i'm gonna visit my favourite relatives on my mom's side down in Georgia (they are not insane) which is really exciting! i feel like now is a really good time to spend with the family. this couple of weeks has been really stressful schoolwise. but seems like i handled this week pretty good. i just got my report card and...it is not good. but i kinda expected it. it is what i deserved i mean i've been stuggling but i feel like i'm slowly getting better. hopefully i just don't go back to the falling-behind slump which tends to happen. i'll try to catch up during vacation. tomarrow is the day before valentine's day and my school has this thing called singing telegrams where a singing group goes around school singing and dancing to the people it's sent to. i sent acouple to my friends. hopefully they don't hate me afterward lol. i sent one of my friends last year and she requested not to have one this year cuz she was too embarrassed. but it is a really fun experience as you can imagine. she did appreciate it though.

~& GUESS WHAT?! MAC's HELLO KITTY collection is finally out today!!!!! like i am ecstatic. the packaging is beautiful and i love how the collection is split into two groups: hello kitty wild & hello kitty mild [sounds so cute]. there was this whole opening with performers and food and whatnot at the MAC stores. too bad i couldn't go since it's a school night(i hate being a teenager). but here's a link for one of thier looks. i am so intregued! you can just click through the rest.

Sometimes i really hate my life. its amazing how one person can change everything. in this case from happy/neutral to tearshedding outrage + anger (on my part). + obviously i'm talking about my mom. she is so full of bullshit and evil. i don't know how the world could produce such a thing. i know kids that say that say they hate their parents but they really don't they're just saying it. simple everyday annoyances do not count for you to hate them. that's normal. like my dad can be annoying but i still love him. always will.

i know you probably hate/strongly dislike the fact that i honestly hate her but you just don't know her or what i've gone through. i'm not persuading you to hate her or anything, this is just a post. (it's funny cus all my friends are scared of her lol) Do you really think i haven't thought long and hard about it. ofcourse i have! & it is so hard. no child wants to hate their mom. but i've denied it for so long and by the time i realized it, i couldn't keep lying to myself. i've given her so many chances of being a better person but i just end up dissapointing myself. things will never change. this is just the way it is.

She has also gone to a tharapist before cuz appearently she went all insane after my parents got married but that clearly did not work. you can probably conclude thats she is insane. which she definately is. who makes thier daughter wakeup 2 in the morning on the first day of school to wash dishes. & the best part: FOR NO REASON. although i wouldn't wish for her to die or anything. non-existance or divource would be just fine. (but that's not gonna happen anytime soon.) and i feel urber-ly depressed today. it's funny that it's groundhog day.

btw for my art of the theatre final i played Helen from the movie Superstar[so funny!]. i wished i taped it :( i quite enjoyed my character and skit all together. it was very fun. i recomend that you watch it. at first i didn't really like it because of the weirdly perverted scenes but i watched it acouple more times and some of the scenes are pretty genius!

thursday was the most stressful school-related day of my life. it was so unbarable i was seriously gonna lose it. i hate dissapointing people but most of all i hate dissabpointing myself. that night i had less than 3 hours of sleep (i slept @3 in the morning) and i tried so hard to get everything done but it was so overwhelming the amount of work i got. first off my teachers don't follow the rules of test days (certain classes have tests for even/odd days), so i had a test/quiz for every single one of my majors along with that i had a lab, an essay, workbooks, worksheets, and a project all due that friday. are they insane?! even for each class separately that was a lot. i was seriously about to cry.

so friday came, i got acouple things done. but i just couldn't go to class. so i just stayed in the librbay all morning. the only reason why i even showed up at school was to go to art of the theatre which i really didn't mind going to since i enjoy it. but that day was the last class of the semester so my group had to present our final & they can't do it without me. anyway i thought it went really well. my group was going into it really unprepared but we improvised some parts (which is totally fine) and i'm really happy with how it turned out!

although my friend jared really did not like it even hearing from our hard-grading teacher that it was in the A range. he was just really upset because he accidently came in too early. he's really serious about this class and is really self-dissaplined but he shouldn't have expressed it so harshly. i absorb emotions really easily. and that angry frustrated feeling was not good. so after class, mid-school day i left. i don't ususally skip classs but

that day was just not good.

Thanksgiving & Black Friday in NYC.

ok. obviously this is late lol but i started my blog in december so..don't blame me... anyway. i guess it wouldn't be a tradtion if it was just started 2 years ago but i'm sure that this tradition will definately continue. since my family has enjoyed it imensly. so since my mom has been "extremely" busy with her new resturant and has not been able to spend at much time at home doing homey things. aka no cooking AT ALL. SO it was obvious we weren't going to have a normal thanksgiving dinner like the previous years. but, insted my dad thought that taking a vacation to new york would be the best way to enjoy the thanksgiving break. DAMN. was he right. i'm inlove with new york. & black fridays call for intense bargin hunting & the imfamous christmas shopping. where else but the shopping capital of the world! i found everything i needed for each and every one of my friends & family. and i'm so glad most of them i was able to make so personal! (haul #2)

Gift ideas: get mugs and stuff them with truffles or packets of hot cocoa or whatever else you prefer. & you can get these really cute and cheap ones at ikea for only 50CENTS!!! ------->

talking about christmas presents, i hate when people ask you what you want for christmas. like you've known me for a while now (maybe years)...you KNOW what i like or what i'd be interested in. GOD. the thing about christmas morning is that it's exciting because of the suprises they bring. it would be a bummer if i already knew. but whatever, some of my guy friends are still stupid and cannot think for themsleves! (just in that area! lol)

if you are one of those people. here's a tip. obviously think about what they're interested in. but also think deeper about previous conversations you've had with them. maybe there's something you'd think they'd want to try or be interested in. If you can't, you can juat get a box of chocolates or cookies as a last resort. if they end up not liking those kinds of things well then... you're screwd. it is pretty cliché, so try to be creative and thoughtful.

New Year, New Resolutions

late. & i don't know why this took a long time to write but.....HAPPY 2009!!! i hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and you got what you had wished for. :]i'm always glad when the new year come around. You get this extended break & during that time you can rest and catch up on the unfinished things but best of all create a fresh start. all these years my priorities have always to attempt to satisfy my parents especially my dad since i really look up to him. but since i went thourgh this really deep depression phase the end of last school year and the beginning of this school year. things have changed a lot. especially my lifestyle. but i'll go deeper into those shenanigans later. but since i've seen my psycologist i've gotten a lot better (in 3 months!) and i don't feel the need to see my psycologist anymore! so thats exciting.

my previous goals for the last 2 years were so cliche. basiacally just to be sucessful in school. yea. didn't happen. my grades were inconsistent and still flexuated from a C to a B+. so that failed (well the C part. I'm ok with a B).

Basically, now i have a totally new mindset. it's not about making others happy. it's about making yourself happy by bettering yourself or doing the things you've always wanted to do. usually you'll think just about the BIG picture. and thats a big step. and when you look at it and you try to achive it, it's kind of overwhelming. so its better to just think about the steps to get there. baby steps is what really make the difference. thinking it in that way makes it more effective into actually happening. lol.

my goals for 2009:

community service: i haven't started yet but i'm looking around for things i'd actually enjoy doing and not just working at some library cause it's easy and i want to get it over with. so i've looked into pet shelters and soup kitchens and i'm really excited to start applying! i'll tell you how that goes but it'll probably start around spring when it's warmer.

school: ~be more organized. -makes a huge difference!
~only dedicate 1 1/2 hours to procrastination (a reasonable amount of time)on school days like surffing the web (you know what i mean). eliminating it completely would be too much to ask for.

~start homework earlier. usually i'd nap when i came home i'd lose track of time and it would be 8 o'clock!

~ask teachers for help! i remember doing it last year and it was a life saver! i don't know why i stopped but i'm definately getting back to that (because i am a slow learner lol). tip. a lot of teachers like it when you come after school so it gives a boost on what they think about you. basically you'll be much appreciated.

my attitude: lately i've been really bitter and quick tempered. no doubt i got it from my mom. so i'm really gonna try and...not do that. like the peaceful person that i am haha.

that's all i can think of right now. but if there's more i will update. :]

Snowboarding...

so i basically wanted to share the most brutal experience of my life (so far). so a couple days ago during winter break was my first time snowboarding. i was pretty much forced into doing it since i got a hand-me-down snowboard from my brother and my dad taught it would be a good experience to try something new......wrong. i could already tell that i was gonna really...well..FAIL (and suffer). looking at the other snowboarders i could tell it took a lot of coordination. A LOT. & i lack in that area along with a weak skinny body. so um to save money...lol, my brother taught me. but i kinda prefered that. so anyway it is super uncomfortable traveling around with a snowboard strapped around one of your feet. i looked like an alien with a snowboard. it was so foreign and awkward for my body it was so...ughh. well yea so people stared. and let me tell you how hard it is to get off the skii lift...damn hard. so your trying to balance off the little hill but your really tempted to put ur foot down on the snow cuz you want to slow down but that ends up making you fall...but i consistantly kept doing that. and it took me 45-1hour to go down this kind of a mellow but tall hill. and god was it scary. my brother was pretty good at trying to teaching me all the basics but it was just me who couldn't really do them...all i could do was literally turn left (into the woods)...and fall. every 5 seconds i would fall it was super annoying and painful! my shins, knees, BUTT, and back and all sore & brused. and this is pathetic but somtimes i would get up, lose my balance, and fall back down again. jeez. and it is SO hard and frustraing to get up. it's easiest to to get up by the knees and push up. but sometimes to do that you have to flip over. FLIP OVER. what a hassel. and by the next day still sore and dizzy, i noticed that my bicepts were sore too...odd...i hadn't fallen on my arms...but then i realized it was the entire muscle that was sore and it was because of all those 50 times i had to push my self up! WOW. i know.

i'm pretty good at skiing not gonna lie but snowboarding... is whole different story. if your naturally picked up snowboarding, you have no idea how jealous i am. if your weak and slow like me you'll prabably have an extremely painful...workout! (sorry about the ramble!) ~your first experiences??

simple cures: the headache

advil not working? it may not cure it but it does ease the pain!

for headaches & feeling stuffy:
(like the times when you stare at the computer screen for 5 straight hours! ahem!)

remody: brushed teeth + iced water = a clear head and refreshed feeling.

try using a minty or cinamon toothpaste for a stronger effect and avoid the fruity ones.

drink acouple glasses of iced water

eating acidy fruits help give a refreshing feeling like oranges & grapefruit.

you can also throw in some mouth rinse (after brushed teeth) and lemon slices into ur water for an extra omph.

& Rest. - get off that computer or tv! and take a nap!

i randomly thought of this when i one day got the headache and i'm so glad it's worked ever since! i live by it! & dairy prodocts are a no-no. (i wonder if an ice pack to the forehead works...)

Winter Must Haves (10)

1) Jackets (of course). -of all kinds. what ever flatters you. and its always good to have a few.
2) Moisterizing Body Lotions (that actually work!!)
my fabulous find??? Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. the consistency is light and non-oily but it works as if it were thick! lasts the ENTIRE day and night and leaves a nice sheen. Me, being obsessed with lotion has gone through a lot of different brands. and this takes the GOLD! usually by the end of the day i'll have to reapply on my shins and anckles cuz they'll be cracked but with this, i don't have too! plus its super afordable. you can get it at costco! exciting.

5) Moisterizing Hand Soap
-You have to try bath&body work's antibacterial MOISTERIZING hand soaps- AMAZING! & i've tried a lot of hand soaps, they usually just dry out my hand even being "moisterizing", however, these leave your hands feeling soft, clean, and smooth. as they should! plus they leave a light pleasent scent behind. Get them in bulk! (right now they're on sale for 3 for $10)

6)Robe(s): a bath one, a cozy lay-around-the-house one, or both! -i recently got a fleece one and i ADORE IT. it is so absolutely warm. i wear it everywhere around the house. even to sleep sometimes!

7) Comforters. it's basically a really padded fluffy quilt filled with wool, feathers, etc. -it's a definate must for the winter. seriously all you need on your bed and you don't have to clean it often just wash the covers every now and then (sold separately). you can get a good priced one at ikea for 30bucks compared to $50-$200 at macy's or target even.

8) Hot Chocolate & Coffee with honey and marshmellows and whatever you warms the soul.

9) Presents & 10) Love. there can never be enough during the holidays!

TOP Fashion Icon: Cory Kennedy. her style is so innovative. she mixes and matches things you wouldn't normally put together but somehow she makes it work which i find to be very inspiring. her personality shows through her clothes very quirky and very cool.

other inspirations: Mary Kate, Blair Waldarf, Ashlee Simpson, men's fashion, MGMT, New Young Pony Club (music/bands), INDIE, skateboarders, seasons, colors, patterns, &art.

btw it took me years to find my place in fashion. just keep looking at things that appeal to you and one day it'll just click. your wardrobe & style will all come together and...flow...lol..

my style is effortless cool, basically all over the place. INDIE/ELECTRIC eclectic? is how i would describe it. i know that indie is a music genre but i don't know how else to describe it. it makes sense to me! anyway, I'm liking plaid, v-necks, tights, headwraps, knee-high boots & chuncky jackets right now although i will probably forever love this stuff. p.s. my brother and i have similar style. (he's a skateboarder so you can imagine what he generally would wear.) we pretty much compliment each other. odd but cool.
i believe that nothing is really "in/out of style". you can make anything work. the key is to just carry it with confidence. it's all about reinventing & layering by mixing and matching. (i know i probably sound like a life coach right now but it's So true. people will recognize that you have a style/that your comfortable in ur own clothes:) e.g. models have to wear clothes that aren't thier style or preference all the time but they have to sell it. and how? though confidence!)

tip: Nylon is my favourite magazine esp. for FASHION. they're very creative and have interesting fashion ideas. i love thier fashion spreads and editorials. highly recommemded. like no other!!! also. i've been shopping at urban outfitters a lot lately. they have some pretty nifty stuff. also don't forget to check out thier bargin basment where you can get t-shirts for as low as 5 bucks!!

Hey.
so this is pretty much where i'll be talking about anything & everything. just a way to express my ideas and for others to comment on their perspective. i'm interested in different oppinions & point of views so say whats on your mind!

when i say anything & everything i mean it!!
in this blog i'm interested in voicing my oppionion on A LOT of things: from Food, Fashion, Makeup, Music, Books, TV shows, school, & lifestyle, i'm treating this blog as my person journal that i'm willing to share with the public eye. i have a craving to learn what's out there. to make life easier or find inspiration. i like being well rounded and cultured so i think that's why my interests are all over the place. To me, it's not about being a certain type, it's about seeing what's out there and taking in what you admire. and what you admire can be a whole mash up of things and that's what makes you the individual that you are. (wow that was deep lol)

my life lesson: my friends and i would go out to many of the school events from watching improv troupe, the school play, and yes, even other schools' asian nights. even though some of the events sounded potentially cheezy (ahem, asian night) or may not have been as good as expected, every single event ended up being really fun. because we made it fun. and i realized that it was because my friends and i were optomistic and were really open to new ideas. all you need is some optimism. no matter the outing, they were willing to experience what was out there with me. and we could always count on each other for entertainment. plus it always became a good discussion point. but most of all i was with people i enjoyed being around.

p.s. don't bring along friend(s) that are pessimistic or aren't so into the idea of being spontaneous because they will seriously be a drag. So go out to those school events, concerts, or watch a "stupid" movie. you'll never know if you like it or not until you experience it. and doing so with a group of friends or family will make the experience so much better. they're there to do these "stupid" things with you, because along the way, all together, they're there to help you find who YOU are, all unconciously doing so.
